Frequently Asked Question – Newborn Photography Studio Yukon OK

Answering some frequently asked questions about newborn sessions on my blog. I absolutely love newborn sessions, each session is different and each baby has their own cute personality. When should you contact your photographer about scheduling a newborn session?

You can contact me as soon as possible! The end of the first trimester or beginning of the second trimester is ideal. I only take a certain number of newborns a month so this ensures that you are taken care of for your newborn session.

When should you schedule your newborn session?

Newborn sessions are scheduled anywhere around 1 to 3 weeks after your baby is born. When your baby is born you contact me and we schedule your session.

Do you pose newborns?

I include very natural and simple poses of your newborn baby. Most poses are on their back or side and highlight how they would naturally be. I don’t include many props besides a Moses basket. Babies are swaddled during most of the session to ensure they are happy.

 

Do you include family portraits in your newborn sessions?

Yes! All newborn sessions include family portraits. Some of my favorite images are family images with newborns. There is nothing like seeing the connection between mom and dad and their new baby. I try to get a variety of images with your family as well as individual images of your newborn baby.

 

Do you provide swaddles and bows for newborn sessions?

I do provide swaddles and bows for newborn sessions. Most swaddles are white, cream and neutral colors. These are timeless colors that don’t distract from the baby and don’t cast any colors on the baby’s skin. I have a variety of colors of bows for baby girls.

 

Do I need to bring a swaddle or outfit to my newborn session?

No you don’t need to bring a swaddle or outfit for your newborn session. My workflow includes wrapping your sweet baby and having them swaddled during most of the session. I have everything you need unless you have a family heirloom that you would like to include. I have you covered.

 

How long are newborn sessions?

Newborn sessions are up to two hours. It doesn’t have to take two hours but I allot that much time allowing for feeding and changing and soothing your little one. I start off with family poses if your little is awake and then individual images of your baby.

 

What if my baby doesn’t go to sleep?

If they don’t, that’s okay. Sometimes they don’t go to sleep and sometimes they sleep for a short time and we can go through all of the poses while your baby is awake and it makes for sweet images of your baby.

 

Do you provide outfits for mothers?

Yes I have a client wardrobe for mothers and babies up to one year. I have dresses that are hand picked by me to photograph beautifully during your newborn session.
